Classroom Link is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a welcoming primary school in Birmingham. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs, helping them to access learning and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
- Support children with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social/emotional needs
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff
- Promote independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children with SEN (school-based or similar setting preferred)
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential
- A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
