Warehouse team leader

We are looking for a driven and experienced Warehouse Team Leader to join our Distribution Centre team.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for managing a team of warehouse operatives, ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient operations across goods-in, picking, dispatch and putaway/replenishment.
You will play a key role in delivering operational performance, maintaining high standards, and supporting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
You will play a key role in supporting our operations teams between our Dundee Distribution Centre and over 300 Spar store locations across Scotland. The role demands a strategic thinker who can drive performance, ensure compliance, and maintain the highest standards of service.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead, motivate, and manage a team of warehouse operatives on shift.
· Allocate workload to ensure operational efficiency and service levels are met.
· Monitor and drive performance against key KPIs to include productivity and accuracy.
· Ensure all Health & Safety standards and safe systems of work are followed.
· Support daily warehouse operations including goods-in, picking, and putaway/replenishment.
· Resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.
· Coach and develop team members to improve capability and performance.
· Maintain strong communication across warehouse, transport, and stock teams.
· Work flexibly to meet the demands of the role – including occasional weekend or out-of-hours availability.
Experience, Skills & Attributes:
· Proven experience in a warehouse supervisory or team leader role.
· Strong understanding of warehouse operations within a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve targets.
· Good knowledge of Health & Safety practices.
· Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
