The Music for Schools Foundation is a charity that believes in every child having the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument, and primary schools need ways to provide affordable and and accessible instrumental tuition.
We are looking for musicians in the area to join our teaching team!
Chat to us if you:
- Play a brass or woodwind instrument at around Grade 8 standard.
- Enjoy working with children.
- Are friend, organise and reliable.
- Would love to inspire new musicians.
- Want part-time work that fits around your family life.
Teaching experience is welcome but not essential - what matters most is your ability to share your passion.
Whether you’re already teaching, returning to music, or simply looking for a new direction, we can offer you:
- Competitive pay - earn up to £47.50 per hour.
- Local, flexible timetables - school-day teaching with timetables that fit around you.
- Free training and resources - tailored support designed for you.
- Low-admin requirements - we handle the admin so you can focus on teaching.
- New Tutor Booster Pay Scheme - packages available to help support new tutors (subject to qualifying criteria).
New for 2026/27
We’re launching Windstars - a fun scheme that introduces Year 1 and 2 pupils to music using Toots and Doods.
Perfect for musicians who love making learning fun from the very start!
