The Weald School is an 11-18 mixed comprehensive with around 1,800 students. This includes a thriving Sixth Form of about 300 students. Our students are at the heart of all that we do. £36,363 - £39,152 FTE, Actual Salary £33,985 - £36,592

What You Need to Succeed
Are you an experienced finance professional with a keen eye for detail, looking for your next career challenge? The Weald School is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Finance professional to join our Finance Team from Oct/Nov 2026 onwards.
Working closely with the School Business Manager, Senior Leadership Team, staff, and Governors, you will play a key role in delivering an efficient and effective financial management service across the school. You will lead the finance team in maintaining robust financial controls, overseeing financial processes, and ensuring the provision of a smooth, professional, and reliable service that inspires confidence among stakeholders.
The role requires strict adherence to all WSCC financial regulations, procedures, and audit requirements. Key responsibilities include reconciling bank accounts, preparing BACS payment runs, processing purchase orders and invoices, managing financial transactions, and monitoring income and expenditure. You will provide accurate and timely financial information and support to the School Business Manager, contributing to the school's strong financial management and governance.
The successful candidate will be able to work well as part of a team, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be highly organised and have the ability to meet tight, sometimes conflicting deadlines. Previous experience of working within a financial environment is essential and sound knowledge of school financial management systems would be desirable. You will have a passion and commitment to the delivery of an outstanding service and be ready to make your contribution to improved school outcomes for our young people.
