Job description
With full training provided by our current head chef, this is an exciting new position of Head chef in waiting for our boutique taverna in the heart of Cranbrook (our head chef is not leaving, but transferring to Tunbridge Wells where he will continue to mentor and train chefs across the business). Kypseli is all about authentic Greek meze and meals and some adventurous fusion dishes. Even if you have not had experience of making dishes such as moussaka, pastitsio, pastitsatha and other classics from the Ionian, they will be expected to have the skills and flare to pick up the recipes quickly and produce mouth-watering top quality meals and explore new and interesting meals. Our existing head chef will provide one-to-one training and you will be assisted by a chef de partie. Our aim is to build a fantastic regional reputation for hearty tasty food for all ages. The role we are offering is initially as deputy head chef with scope to be promoted head chef, subject to successful training. It is a role that will offer variety and scope to grow as our company expands. For a chef seeking to inspire diners and to make their mark, there will be opportunity to experiment with other types of food around various theme nights when we hold events in our other building at Number 19 Stone Street, 3-doors along from the restaurant.
