About Us
Highbury Homes are a well-established building contractor carrying out property repairs on behalf of multiple insurers. Our work involves reinstating homes and commercial properties following damage caused by a variety of insured perils, including fire, flood, impact, and escape of water. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a skilled Painter & Decorator to join our team covering West Yorkshire and surrounding areas.
The Role
You will be responsible for completing high-quality painting and decorating works as part of insurance reinstatement projects. This role involves working in occupied and unoccupied properties, often in customers’ homes, so a professional and considerate approach is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Internal and external painting and decorating works
- Preparing surfaces including filling, sanding, and priming
- Applying finishes to a high standard (emulsion, gloss, satin, etc.)
- Working as part of a wider repairs team on insurance reinstatement jobs
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with specifications and timescales
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Providing excellent customer service when dealing with policyholders
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Painter & Decorator (ideally within insurance or reactive repairs)
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Good communication and customer-facing skills
- Ability to work across multiple locations in West Yorkshire
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience working on insurance reinstatement projects
- NVQ or City & Guilds qualification in Painting & Decorating
- CSCS card
