We are looking for a warm, confident, and passionate Room Leader to lead our Baby Room (8–18 months) and play a key role in shaping the earliest stage of each child’s learning journey.
This is a hands-on leadership position where you will guide and support a dedicated team, create a calm and stimulating environment, and ensure every child receives exceptional care and learning opportunities. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of practice while fostering strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

About the Role
As Baby Room Leader, you will oversee the daily operation of our room for children aged 8–18 months, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where every child can thrive.
You will lead the planning and delivery of high-quality learning experiences that support each child’s individual development, combining the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with the principles of Montessori education.
The successful candidate will be a qualified and experienced early years practitioner with strong leadership skills, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for supporting babies during this important stage of development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and support a team of practitioners within the Baby Room.
- Ensure the highest standards of care, learning, safeguarding, and wellbeing for all children.
- Create a warm, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate environment that encourages exploration and independence.
- Plan, observe, assess, and support children's learning and development in line with EYFS and Montessori principles.
- Build positive and professional relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on their child’s progress.
- Ensure compliance with all nursery policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
- Act as a positive role model, mentor, and coach for colleagues.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement within the nursery.
- Work collaboratively with the management team to maintain outstanding standards across the setting.
What We're Looking For
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
- Previous experience working with babies in an early years setting.
- Experience leading or supervising a team.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding requirements.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- A nurturing, enthusiastic, and professional approach.
- A genuine passion for providing outstanding care and education for young children.
