Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class 1 Drivers to join our long established transport company . The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods ensuring that all deliveries are made on time and in compliance with road safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Operate a lorry to transport goods to various locations as scheduled.
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, adhering to weight limits and securing loads properly.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including times, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving to ensure safety on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transit.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients during deliveries.
Requirements
- Valid UK driving licence with the appropriate class for operating a Class 1.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
