Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance / General Operative on behalf of our client. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and is confident using hand tools and equipment.
No two days will be the same, with duties ranging from grounds maintenance and landscaping to general maintenance, removals and site support work. This position offers ongoing work with an established and growing business.
Main Purpose of the Role
To support the delivery of landscaping, grounds maintenance, property maintenance and general labouring services across a variety of client sites, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Grass cutting and lawn maintenance
- Hedge trimming, strimming and general gardening duties
- Assisting with landscaping and grounds maintenance projects
- Carrying out general labouring and maintenance tasks
- Using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Loading and unloading materials, equipment and waste
- Assisting with house and commercial removals when required
- Supporting tradespeople on site
- Ensuring all work areas are kept clean, safe and organised
- Following health and safety procedures at all times
Additional Responsibilities
- Assisting with property clearance works
- Basic handyman duties where required
- Supporting team members across different projects and locations
- Reporting any equipment faults or site issues to management
- Providing excellent customer service when working at client premises
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, gardening, labouring, removals or a similar hands-on role would be advantageous
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Good level of physical fitness
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred but not essential
Working Pattern & Benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:00pm
