Thornbury Golf Centre is looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Course Warden & Ballpicker to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work across our two stunning parkland courses, Marlwood and Severn View, playing a key role in delivering an exceptional experience for our members and guests.
As the face of the course, you will be responsible for ensuring every player enjoys a safe, smooth, and enjoyable round of golf. From welcoming players on the 1st tee and checking memberships or green fees, to monitoring pace of play and promoting golf etiquette, you will help uphold the high standards our members and visitors expect. You will be visible across both courses, engaging positively with players while ensuring local rules and standards are maintained.
The role also involves helping maintain the presentation and playability of the course. You will monitor pace of play, ensure players are booked in. litter, and general tidiness, encouraging players to respect and care for the course. You will support driving range operations, including ball collection, particularly during the winter months when this involves hand-picking balls from the range. You will also report any issues such as damaged signage or irrigation faults to our Greenkeeping team and assist with competitions, society days, and events when required.
We are looking for someone with a warm, approachable, and professional manner who enjoys working with people and takes pride in delivering excellent service. Strong communication skills, reliability, and a proactive attitude are essential, as is the ability to work independently outdoors in all weather conditions. This is a physically active role that requires regular walking around the courses and flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.
