Salary - £26,436.80 FTE (pro rata)
Hours - Split shift (morning & afternoon – variable by route) | 39 weeks including 5 development days
Job Summary
Woodpecker Court, a specialist post 16 college, are seeking a reliable and professional Education Transport Driver from the Deal Area in Kent to safely and efficiently transport students to and from our provision. This is a split shift role, starting and finishing from home, where you will ensure students arrive at Woodpecker Court by 9:00am and are collected from Woodpecker Court at 2:30pm.
You will play a vital role in supporting students’ access to education while maintaining high standards of safety, professionalism, and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely drive a 9 or 17 seat minibus in line with regulations
- Ensure students arrive on time at 9:00am and are collected at 2:30pm
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects
- Maintain accurate records (mileage, incidents, fuel)
- Plan routes efficiently, considering traffic and weather
- Support student safety, behaviour, and wellbeing
- Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality procedures
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and colleagues
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (D1 desirable but not essential)
- Safe, responsible driving record
- Knowledge of the Highway Code
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Calm, patient, and reliable approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
