Position: QA & Regulatory Assistant
Reports to: QA & Regulatory Manager

Purpose of the Role
To support the business in maintaining compliance with food safety, quality, customer, regulatory, and certification requirements. The role helps ensure products, processes, and documentation meet legal, industry, and customer standards while supporting continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the maintenance, implementation, and continual improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, regulatory, customer, and certification requirements.
- Assist with the development, review, and control of policies, procedures, specifications, labels, and technical documentation.
- Apply and support HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP principles, including monitoring, verification, and record management.
- Conduct internal audits, inspections, environmental monitoring, and other compliance verification activities.
- Prepare documentation and evidence for customer, certification, and regulatory audits.
- Investigate customer complaints, non-conformances, and corrective actions, ensuring timely resolution.
- Maintain supplier approval records and obtain accurate technical information from suppliers.
- Respond to technical and regulatory enquiries, escalating issues where necessary.
- Manage and maintain data on customer and third-party compliance platforms.
- Monitor regulatory and industry developments and support the implementation of required changes.
- Deliver accurate, timely quality and compliance reporting and administrative support.
- Provide guidance and training to colleagues on quality and compliance requirements where appropriate.
- Contribute to process improvements that enhance compliance, efficiency, and business performance.
- Adhere to all company policies relating to quality, food safety, health and safety, and professional conduct.

Knowledge and Experience
- Experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, or a similarly regulated environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and quality management systems.
- Understanding of HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP principles.
- Experience supporting audits and compliance activities.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and relevant legislation.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Communication and Numeracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to analyse information, interpret data, and work accurately with numerical information.
Pay: £28,000.00 per year
