Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our dynamic culinary team within our care home.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation, cooking with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient food production
- supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to maintain high standards of performance.
- Prepare meals for 30 residents, cooked breakfast, lunch and tea.
- Manage food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health regulations and hygiene standards
- Develop new recipes and menu items to enhance residents experience
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control to minimise waste
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment
- Assist in training new team members and fostering a positive team culture
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen setting, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality environment
- Supervising experience is highly desirable
- Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and food presentation
- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure
- Experience in menu development and food innovation is advantageous
- A passion for culinary arts and delivering outstanding customer service
