Factory Supervisor – Food Manufacturing

Hours: Full-time
We are looking for a hands-on Factory Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of our food manufacturing operation, including production planning, machine set-up, packing, order fulfilment, and stock control.
This is a practical, fast-paced role suited to someone who is comfortable working on the factory floor, leading people, solving problems quickly and keeping production moving efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
The Factory Manager will be responsible for managing daily factory operations to ensure products are manufactured, packed and dispatched accurately, safely and on time.
Main duties will include:
- Overseeing food production, packing and online order fulfilment
- Setting up, operating and troubleshooting factory machinery
- Planning daily and weekly production around orders and stock requirements
- Managing intake of raw materials, packaging and finished goods
- Ensuring all products meet quality, food safety and customer standards
- Training team members on processes, machinery and hygiene standards
- Monitoring stock levels and supporting stock control procedures
- Managing waste, damages, rework and production efficiency
- Ensuring cleaning schedules, hygiene procedures and factory standards are followed
- Supporting dispatch to make sure customer and online orders leave correctly and on time
- Identifying improvements in workflow, labour use, machinery set-up and factory layout
- Maintaining accurate production, traceability and quality records
About You
We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, good attention to detail and the ability to take ownership of the factory environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in food manufacturing, food production or a similar factory environment
- Experience setting up or operating production machinery
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Good people management and communication skills
- A practical, hands-on approach
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene and traceability requirements
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Confidence managing online orders, packing accuracy and dispatch requirements
- A problem-solving mindset and the ability to improve processes
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience as a Factory Manager, Production Manager, Operations Supervisor or Production Supervisor
- Knowledge of HACCP, BRC, SALSA or similar food safety standards
- Experience with stock systems, order management systems or warehouse software
- Forklift licence or experience working in warehousing/dispatch
- Experience in chilled, frozen, ambient or meat/food products
