MFL TEACHER | FRENCH AND SPANISH | September 2026
A welcoming and high-achieving secondary school in Barnet is seeking a passionate MFL Teacher to join their team from April 2026. This role will go until the end of the academic year.
This is a full-time position, teaching across Years 7–11, including current GCSE cohorts. As the role involves teaching examination classes, the school is looking for a confident practitioner with the subject knowledge and experience to deliver GCSE content to a high standard.
The successful candidate will be responsible for Spanish up to KS4 (essential) and French at KS3 (KS4 desirable), and will be fully integrated into the department.

- TLR: Not available for this role
The Role Will Involve:
- Teaching Spanish to KS4 (essential) and French to KS3 (KS4 desirable)
- Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging MFL lessons
- Full responsibility for planning, marking, assessment, and tracking progress
- Supporting GCSE exam preparation and examination processes
- Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and academic progress
- Attending parents’ evenings for relevant year groups
- Working collaboratively within a supportive MFL department
- Adhering to all school policies, including safeguarding
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds QTS/PGCE
- Strong ECT2s are welcome if confident teaching GCSE content
- Proven ability to teach Spanish to KS4 effectively
- Confident classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management
- Organised, proactive, and committed to student outcomes
- Comfortable taking on the full responsibilities of a class teacher
