JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Catering Assistant,
Responsible to: Catering Manager, Manager and Directors
It is the Catering Teams responsibilities to organise the day-to-day running of the nursery kitchen. In general, they must have a holistic view of the kitchen in relation to the rest of the nursery and maintain a safe environment. The Catering Team must remain loyal to the company and report any problems or concerns to the manager. Above all, the Catering Team must work in a professional way, displaying positiveness, integrity and calm assurance at all times. The Catering Team’s main responsibilities will be to provide a well-balanced menu taking into consideration the individual requirements of children, special diets etc.
Duties
Kitchen
- To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and provision in accordance with Health and Safety standards, recommended by the Environmental Health Department including all equipment, appliances, surfaces, and storage.
- To complete the paperwork required to ensure the safety of the kitchen is priority.
- Accurate dietary requirements records
- Responsible for stock control, rotation and ordering of all products.
- Maintaining high standards, carry out spot checks and take appropriate action.
- Ensure nursery staff in the kitchen are aware of hygiene and safety standards.
- Prepare and cook afternoon meals for the children's tea and snack following the nursery menu's.
- Complete relevant training for the role.

Pay: £10.25-£12.71 per hour
