FULL TIME MAINTENANCE OPERATIVE

We are looking for a practical, hands-on Maintenance Operative to join our team. This is a varied role that requires someone who is proactive, adaptable and willing to get involved in all aspects of maintaining and improving our busy retail environment.
From carrying out repairs and preventative maintenance to supporting site operations, and security of the Redbrick site, you will play a key role in ensuring Redbrick remains safe, presentable and fully operational.
You will need to be willing to work as part of a multi disciplinary team, have a flexible approach to work / working hours and have a good mix of general maintenance experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out general building maintenance, repairs and improvements across the site.
- Undertake basic plumbing, joinery, decorating and electrical maintenance tasks.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from management and tenants.
- Conduct routine health and safety inspections and report any issues.
- Assist with the opening and closing procedures of the site.
- Ensure the building, grounds and external areas are maintained to a high standard.
- Support waste management and recycling processes.
- Assist with furniture deliveries, customer collections and other operational duties as required.
- Liaise with contractors and support project work when necessary.
- Help maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for customers, tenants and staff.
What We Are Looking For:
- Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities or building services role.
- Good all-round maintenance skills with knowledge of areas such as plumbing, joinery, decorating and basic electrical work.
- A practical, can-do attitude and willingness to turn your hand to a wide variety of tasks.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures and safe working practices.
- Reliable, hardworking and flexible in your approach to work.
- Experience of working in a retail, commercial or customer-facing environment would be advantageous.

This is a full-time position, working 4/5 days over 7 days, to include regular weekends and Bank Holidays.
