Job Purpose
To provide support to Catering Assistant to clean and maintain the kitchen functions needed to support the provision of a very effective and efficient service within a busy private Nursery.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday (shifts between 8am-4.30pm)
- No weekends

Main Tasks
The post holder will be expected to:
- Maintaining a high standard of hygiene within the Nursery kitchen is a major function of the role.
- Assist staff in the serving of meals and clearing away after meal times.
- Preparation of simple foods.
- Carry out dishwashing tasks on a regular basis
- Carry out laundry tasks ensuring the laundry space is well maintained and compliant with Health and Safety/COSHH regulations
- Prepare trolleys for meal times
- Liaise with Nursery staff to ensure all dietary requirements, allergies and intolerances are accurate and up to date.
- Maintain correct and up-to-date record systems in accordance with existing policies and procedures.
- Uphold food safety regulations and guidelines at all times
- Check stock levels frequently and collate weekly shopping list for timetabled menus.
- Have a proactive approach to continuous professional development and participate in individual, team and Wellies Nursery development
- Take responsibility for duties as delegated by the Nursery Director / Management team

- Up to date Level 2 Food Hygiene Qualification

Requirements of the Job
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
Desirable:
- Educated to Standard Grade level or equivalent
Essential:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Internet and email
The post holder will be expected to:
- Hold Disclosure Scotland PVG Membership for Regulated Work with Children/and or Protected Adults or willingness to obtain prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Wellies Nursery
- Adhere to Wellies Nursery Policies and Procedures and all relevant local and national legislation
- Show ability to cope with a variety of tasks
- Show ability to deal with confidential and sensitive issues
- Show ability to work as a member of a busy team, taking the lead from the Nursery Manager
