HR Administrator
Location: Stockton on Tees.
Reporting to: Operations Director, Finance Director
Job Purpose
To lead and manage all HR activities across a group of companies, ensuring the organisation attracts, develops, and retains a skilled and compassionate workforce while maintaining full compliance with employment law, CQC requirements, and sector best practice.
Key Responsibilities
HR Strategy & Operations
· Develop and implement HR policies aligned with care standards and regulations.
· Act as the main HR contact for care home managers.
· Support workforce planning and organisational change.
Recruitment & Onboarding
· Oversee end-to-end recruitment and safer recruitment compliance.
· Ensure DBS, right-to-work, and reference checks are completed.
· Maintain structured induction processes.
Employee Relations
· Advise on disciplinaries, grievances, absence, and performance management.
· Coach managers on consistent people management.
· Ensure fair and legally compliant processes.
Compliance & Governance
· Ensure compliance with employment law, CQC, and GDPR.
· Maintain accurate employee records.
· Support inspections and audits.
Learning & Development
· Support training and development plans.
· Monitor mandatory training compliance.
· Assist with appraisal processes.
Culture & Wellbeing
· Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
· Support wellbeing and retention initiatives.
Person Specification
Essential
· Proven HR experience, ideally within care or regulated sectors.
· Strong knowledge of UK employment law.
· Experience managing employee relations cases.
· Excellent communication and organisational skills.
· Ability to work across multiple sites.
Desirable
· CIPD Level 5 or above.
· Experience with CQC-regulated organisations.
· Multi-site HR experience.
