Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher for Year 5 to join our educational team within a Primary School . The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, fostering a positive learning environment, and supporting the academic and personal development of pupils aged 9 to 10 years. This role offers an opportunity to inspire young learners and contribute to their educational journey within a supportive school community.
The role is long term maternity cover from September 2026 - February 2027, potentially longer.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum for Year 5 pupils.
- Assess and monitor pupils’ progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, creating a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop school programmes and share best practices.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding pupil progress and behaviour.
- Organise extracurricular activities that enhance pupils’ educational experience.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and behavioural incidents.
Requirements
- Proven experience or strong understanding of early childhood education principles relevant to Year 5 learners.
- Demonstrated ability in behaviour management and creating positive classroom environments.
- Excellent teaching skills with the ability to motivate and inspire pupils.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with pupils, colleagues, and parents.
- Relevant teaching qualification recognised within the UK (e.g., QTS).
- A passion for education and a commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team of educators dedicated to pupil success.

Pay: £170.00-£250.00 per day
