Overview
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Furniture Removalist / House Clearance operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting furniture and household items, ensuring customer satisfaction. This role requires a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle heavy lifting. Previous experience in delivery driving or warehouse work is advantageous, but full training will be provided. The position offers an engaging environment for those who enjoy physical activity and organisational tasks.
Duties
- Safely load and unload furniture and household items onto lorries or vans, ensuring secure transportation.
- Assist with the organisation and planning of removal routes to optimise efficiency.
- Conduct in-person collections and deliveries, maintaining professional conduct with clients throughout the process.
- Use appropriate equipment to move heavy or bulky items, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding scheduling, delivery times, and any special instructions.
- Ensure all items are handled with care to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle and work area at all times.
- Assist with warehouse organisation when not engaged in removals or house clearance tasks.
Experience
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or warehouse operative is preferred but not essential; full training will be provided.
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s licence or equivalent is required; commercial driving experience is advantageous.
- Experience in heavy lifting and manual handling is desirable.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
