We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our team in a vibrant restaurant environment. The Kitchen Porter plays a crucial role in supporting our culinary team by ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in food preparation and kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the chefs, ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety are maintained.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and pans, and ensuring all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly.
- Help with the organisation of the kitchen by keeping workstations tidy and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
- Support chefs during busy service periods by providing assistance as needed, including fetching ingredients and equipment.
- Dispose of waste appropriately and ensure recycling practices are followed.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is advantageous but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene practices is preferred; training will be provided.
