Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Self-Employed Care and Support Workers to provide personalised assistance to individuals in their homes. Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal care, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide specialised care for individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other cognitive impairments
- Support patients with medication administration/prompt where appropriate/allowed following prescribed protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements and preferences
- Manage behaviour effectively through compassionate behaviour management techniques
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed, ensuring safe transportation
- Offer emotional support and companionship to enhance clients’ quality of life
- Respond promptly to emergencies by applying first aid skills when necessary
- Support clients with hospice or palliative care needs in accordance with care plans
Qualifications
- Proven experience in assisted living, patient care, or home support roles such as nursing home or hospice care
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s, and senior care practices
- Certification or training in first aid and medication administration is desirable
- Valid driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle for client transportation
- Strong communication skills with an empathetic approach towards clients of all ages, including children and elderly individuals
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for mobility assistance or moving equipment
- Organised with excellent time management skills to handle multiple clients efficiently
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to health and safety regulations
