Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the daily operations of our childcare centre. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a nurturing environment that promotes early childhood development and education. The Deputy Manager will assist the Manager in overseeing staff, ensuring high standards of care, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
Duties
- Assist the Manager in supervising and supporting nursery staff to deliver high-quality childcare and early childhood education programmes.
- Lead daily activities, ensuring they are engaging, educational, and suitable for children’s developmental stages.
- Support staff recruitment, training, and performance management to foster a motivated and professional team.
- Oversee the organisation of activities, routines, and behaviour management strategies within the nursery.
- Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding children’s progress and centre updates.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and early years’ frameworks.
- Assist in planning curriculum development aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Support the implementation of policies that promote a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided.
Skills
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years Childcare
- Previous experience in a senior role within an early year setting
- Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- To ensure that the safety and the well-being of children is always paramount
- Passion for delivering exceptional childcare and education
- To support, coach and offer guidance to practitioners, students on placement and volunteers in the setting
- Keeping attendance registers accurate
- Supporting planning for special events and celebrations
Pay: From £21,439.60 per year
