We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Head Housekeeper to oversee the cleanliness and organisation of The Angel Inn, Topcliffe, a busy hospitality venue with 16 guest bedrooms.
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, hands-on cleaning experience, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene across both guest accommodation and public areas.
This is a daytime position, ensuring all rooms and facilities are prepared to an exceptional standard for arriving guests. The role involves managing a small housekeeping team, maintaining stock, and ensuring a consistently welcoming and spotless environment throughout the inn.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily cleaning operations across 16 guest bedrooms and public areas.
- Lead, train, and motivate housekeeping staff to maintain high performance and attention to detail.
- Plan and manage daily cleaning schedules, ensuring rooms are turned around efficiently for guest arrivals.
- Carry out regular room inspections to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met.
- Maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies, linen, and equipment, ensuring timely reordering.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations within a hospitality setting.
- Liaise with management regarding guest requests, maintenance issues, or special cleaning requirements.
- Keep accurate records of housekeeping tasks, room status, and staff attendance.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in hotel, hospitality, or commercial cleaning, ideally in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of cleaning standards for guest accommodation.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple rooms and tasks efficiently.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to housekeeping.
- Ability to work independently, using initiative, while maintaining high attention to detail.
