The Role
We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality welds on stainless steel and mild steel tubing. You’ll be responsible for fabricating a variety of components to tight tolerances, ensuring that quality and safety standards are met at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform TIG welding on stainless and mild steel tubes
- Interpret and work from technical drawings and fabrication sketches
- Prepare and set up welding equipment
- Ensure all welds meet internal and customer specifications
- Maintain clean and safe working conditions in line with company procedures
- Work as part of a wider team to meet production deadlines
- Perform visual checks and basic quality assurance of completed work
- Contribute to continuous improvement and efficient workflow
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in TIG welding within a fabrication or engineering environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience working with thin-wall tube (1–3mm)
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Strong understanding of health & safety in a manufacturing setting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable (but not essential):
- Welding qualifications to ISO 9606-1 standard
- Familiarity with tube end forming and tube bending processes
- Forklift or overhead crane licence
