Automation Systems Technician – Gate Automation
We are currently working with a leading specialist within the automated gate and barrier sector who is looking to recruit an experienced Automation Systems Technician to join their growing team.
This is a full-time position offering a long-term opportunity for an engineer with a strong background in the installation, servicing, and maintenance of automated gate systems.
A company vehicle is provided, and the role will involve travel to various sites across the UK.
The Role
As an Automation Systems Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, service, repair, and maintenance of automated gate and access systems. You will also be involved in fault finding, client demonstrations, site reporting, and ensuring all works are completed safely and in line with current compliance standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Installation, servicing, and maintenance of automated gate systems
- Mechanical and electrical/electronic fault finding
- Completing detailed engineering reports and documentation
- Asset tagging and system registration
- Ordering components and equipment as required
- Liaising with clients and end users on site
- Ensuring all works meet safety and quality standards
- Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota
- Supporting risk assessments and compliance requirements
Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:
- Proven experience in gate automation installation, service, or maintenance
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel and work away when required
- Good IT literacy (training includes use of software and laptop-based testing)
- Willingness to complete industry safety and compliance training (provided)
