Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow during service
- Oversee food production processes, maintaining consistency and presentation standards
- Manage food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Support in menu development and ingredient selection to reflect current culinary trends
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to minimise waste
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment
- Train new team members in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safety procedures
- Serve as a role model for team management, fostering a positive and professional work atmosphere
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
- Excellent understanding of food safety standards and regulations
- Previous restaurant experience demonstrating versatility across various cuisines
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service hours
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen operations
- Experience in hospitality or serving roles is advantageous but not essential for this position
