The post holder will work in partnership with service users in the designated care group with complex health presentations, developing their care plans and recovery plans to enable them to lead fulfilling lives.
They will provide specialist assessment and interventions relevant to the care group to include education, care plans and discharge planning, working closely with carers, families, and partner agencies to facilitate this.
The post holder will work at all times to promote the safety and the wellbeing of service users and their families/carers.
The post holder will assess, plan, and implement care, and provide specialist advice and interventions including supporting other members of the team.
They will provide clinical supervision to staff and students and act as a mentor for students. They will provide line management responsibilities if required within the designated area.
They will participate in review of clinical policies and guidelines relevant to the area and support and implement changes to practice; liaise with other organisations and professionals to promote communication and good practice; be able to undertake audit activity.
Understand psychosocial interventions to include psychoeducation, wellness recovery action plans and discharge planning.
Clinical practice, including own professional development:
- To provide comprehensive assessment of mental health specific to needs of service area.
- To manage a caseload of children and young people with complex mental health needs and undertake case management/lead professional / CPA as needed.
- To be able to communicate with and meet the needs of families and carers as appropriate to the care group and the individual client.
- To have experience of and specialist knowledge on interventions to be able to lead in clinical area.
- To receive management supervision from the Team Manager or equivalent.
- To demonstrate excellent communication skills.
- To work in partnership with other agencies to gain the best person-centred outcomes for the individual.

Current professional registration with an approved professional body (NMC, HCPC, Social Work England) Or Evidence of having achieved and completed the Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes (KSA) KSA portfolio route to BABCP Accreditation with current accreditation of the BABCP).
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Degree / diploma level supplemented by specialist qualification, training, experience, courses to master's level equivalent relevant to the care group.
- Evidence of post registration training in relevant service area.
- Completion of Mentorship Course / Practice Supervisor Course.
