Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and responsible Traffic Marshall to oversee the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians within a busy construction or industrial site. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining site safety, managing traffic flow, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Duties
- Direct vehicles and pedestrians to designated areas, ensuring smooth traffic flow and safety at all times
- Control access points, verifying authorised personnel and vehicles before entry or exit
- Maintain clear signage and signals to guide traffic effectively
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on traffic management equipment such as barriers, cones, and signage
- Assist with site maintenance tasks as required to uphold safety standards
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, site managers, and drivers to coordinate movements and address any issues promptly
- Record relevant information related to site access and traffic incidents for reporting purposes
Requirements
- Proven management skills with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks efficiently
- Experience in site maintenance or traffic management is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Valid driving licence with clean driving record; ability to operate site vehicles if necessary
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members, drivers, and visitors
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in managing site access and safety procedures
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and remain alert throughout shifts
- Responsible attitude towards health and safety regulations; willingness to undertake relevant training as required
