James Ray Recruitment are working with a firm seeking an experienced and confident Family Solicitor to join their established Family Department in Doncaster. The successful candidate will have a strong background in private family law and be capable of managing a varied caseload independently, including matters relating to children and financial remedies. You will provide practical, client-focused advice, deliver excellent levels of client care, and work collaboratively as part of a supportive and experienced family law team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated solicitor looking to further develop their career within a respected specialist family law practice and contribute to the continued growth and success of the department.
The role is Full Time however Part Time working would be considered for the right candidate.
Duties
- Managing a varied caseload of private family law matters, including divorce, separation, financial remedy, and private children cases.
- Advising clients on cohabitation disputes, pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, separation agreements, and protective injunctions.
- Handling Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act (TOLATA) matters, where required.
- Providing supervision, guidance, and support to junior members of the team, assisting with their professional development.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider Family Department and deliver excellent client service.
- Building and maintaining professional relationships through attendance at networking events and business development activities.
- Contributing to the continued growth and success of the Doncaster office and the wider firm through high-quality legal services and client care.
Requirements
- Ideally 8+ years’ PQE in family law, with strong candidates of relevant experience also considered.
- Proven experience in both children and financial remedy matters.
- Experience in Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act (TOLATA) cases is highly desirable.
- Ability to independently manage a busy and varied caseload with minimal supervision.
- Excellent client care, communication, and legal drafting skills.
- Strong commercial awareness with a proven track record of meeting billing targets.
- Experience in supervising and supporting junior colleagues, or a willingness to develop in this area.
- Willingness to engage in networking and contribute to business development activities.
- Ambition to progress and grow within the firm.
- Confident use of case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Professional, organised, and collaborative approach to teamwork.
