Purpose of the Role
The AI3 Coach (Working Smarter with AI) exists to help learners build confidence and capability in using AI enabled digital tools safely, effectively, and responsibly in the workplace.
In this role, you will coach and support learners on Corndel’s Level 3 Working Smarter with AI programme, helping them adopt practical AI enabled workflows using Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Copilot. You will guide learners to understand not just how to use tools, but how to apply sound judgement, maintain human oversight, and improve productivity in ways that genuinely add value.
You will combine strong digital and M365 expertise with a coaching mindset, empowering learners to develop confidence, good habits, and transferable skills that support their long‑term development.
Core Responsibilities
Learner Coaching & Development
Manage a caseload of learners, building trusted relationships through structured one‑to‑one coaching and group workshops.
Support learners at different stages of confidence and digital maturity, adapting your approach to meet individual needs.
Create an inclusive, psychologically safe learning environment where learners feel comfortable asking questions, practising new skills, and learning from mistakes.
Encourage learners to take ownership of their development, building confidence through practical application and reflection.
Digital Productivity & AI Adoption
Coach learners to use Microsoft 365 tools (including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) to improve everyday productivity.
Guide learners in the practical use of Microsoft Copilot and other AI tools, including promptbased approaches that enhance clarity, efficiency and decision making.
Support learners to develop safe, ethical, and responsible AI habits, including awareness of data privacy, bias, and security considerations.
Help learners recognise opportunities to apply AI enabled workflows in real workplace tasks, balancing innovation with good professional judgement.
Digital Support & Problem Solving
Support learners to develop foundational digital support skills, such as diagnosing simple application issues, providing user support, and troubleshooting.
Build learner understanding of organisational digital processes, escalation routes, and best practice.
Encourage a solutions‑focused mindset, helping learners approach problems methodically and confidently.
Progress, Quality & Outcomes
Guide learners through programme milestones, assessments, and portfolio evidence, ensuring consistent progress and timely completion.
Support learners to produce high‑quality, compliant evidence that reflects genuine capability and understanding.
Engage constructively with learners’ line managers to support progress and reinforce the value of the programme.
Maintain high standards of quality, safeguarding, and data handling, making thoughtful decisions that prioritise learner wellbeing and success.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work collaboratively with colleagues across Operations, Product, and Curriculum to deliver a consistent and high‑quality learner experience.
Stay curious about emerging digital and AI trends, bringing relevant developments into learning conversations where they add value.
Contribute ideas and insight to continuously improve delivery approaches and learner outcomes.
Technical Skills & Experience
Essential
Expert working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Practical experience using Microsoft Copilot and/or other AI tools to support productivity and workflow improvement.
Understanding of AI fundamentals, including how large language models work and how they can be applied responsibly in the workplace.
Confidence in prompt‑based interaction with AI tools, with the ability to explain effective prompting strategies to others.
Awareness of AI risks and limitations, including data privacy, bias, security, and responsible use.
Experience diagnosing and resolving common application issues, with an understanding of digital support and helpdesk practices.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non‑technical learners.
Desirable
Experience with Power Automate or other low‑code/no‑code automation tools.
Familiarity with Copilot Studio or Power Apps.
Experience delivering training, coaching, or user support in a professional environment.
Teaching, training, or IT support qualifications (e.g. Microsoft Certified Trainer, ITIL).
What Success in This Role Looks Like
In this role, success means that you:
Consistently support learners to complete their programme and End Point Assessment successfully and on time.
Are trusted by learners as a knowledgeable, approachable, and supportive coach.
Enable learners to use AI‑enabled tools with confidence, judgement, and awareness of risk.
Maintain high standards of quality, professionalism, and learner care.
Contribute positively to a collaborative, inclusive, and high‑performing team culture.
What Brilliant Looks Like
At its best, this role creates impact well beyond individual sessions:
Learners describe your support as pivotal in building their confidence with AI and digital tools.
You spot patterns across cohorts and proactively improve learner experience and outcomes.
You introduce practical, thoughtful ways of using AI that genuinely improve productivity and decision‑making.
You balance encouragement with challenge, helping learners build good habits rather than shortcuts.
Your influence supports organisations to adopt AI‑enabled productivity in a responsible, sustainable way.
Who This Role Is For
This role is ideal for a digital support, IT, or M365 professional who:
Enjoys helping others develop confidence with technology.
Is curious about AI and its practical workplace applications.
Values integrity, inclusion, and impact alongside technical capability.
Wants to combine professional expertise with coaching and education to make a real difference.
