Stoa Recruitment are looking for a Skilled Site Fitter & Fabricator on behalf of our client — an established steel fabrication business specialising in architectural staircases, balustrades, and structural metalwork.
The Role
This is hands-on site work for a skilled fitter who knows mild and stainless steel fabrication and installation inside out — particularly architectural staircases, balustrading, handrails, and glass panels. You'll be installing to a high standard, leading semi-skilled fitters on site, and taking real ownership of getting the job done right and on time.

What You'll Be Doing
- Fabricating and fitting secondary steelwork and architectural metalwork — stairs, balustrading, handrails, and glass panels
- Working from site packs — RAMS, drawings, parts lists, bolt lists — and checking all information before starting
- Managing and delegating tasks to semi-skilled fitters to keep work productive
- Maintaining high standards throughout to deliver a quality finish
- Working to targets and deadlines set by the Site Manager
- Keeping accurate daily records of work carried out, alterations, and downtime
- Taking responsibility for tools and equipment, and working safely to method statements at all times
What We Need From You
- Skilled experience in mild and stainless steel fabrication and installation — architectural staircases and balustrades especially
- Confident reading fabrication and installation drawings
- Knowledge of the steel construction industry and architectural metalwork installation
- Strong health and safety awareness — correct PPE and a no walk-by attitude at all times
- Ability to lead and delegate to semi-skilled fitters on site
- Flexibility to work to strict deadlines, including outside normal hours when required
- Desirable tickets: IPAF, PASMA, CSCS, Telehandler, FLT, Harness Training, Slinger Banksman
