Do you thrive in a diverse and inclusive work environment? If so, we want you to join our team. As an Arborist Climber, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the outdoor areas we manage are safe, clean, and visually appealing for our clients, supporting us to be excellent at everything we do.
Your responsibilities will include:
- To undertake the full range of arboriculture duties as instructed by your line manager as follows: felling, pruning, crown lifting, reduction work, thinning and rigging.
- To work as part of a team with the aim of ensuring productive and professional relationships within the team, with other employees, managers, clients, and external agencies.
- Ensure hand/power tools and arboriculture equipment, machinery and vehicles in your charge are secure, and in good working order, carry out routine maintenance and refer major mechanical problems to your line manager.
- Report other defects/damage regarding the site to a line manager.
- Participate in on-the-job or other training/development courses to improve ability and effectiveness to carry out duties and completion of training notifications.
- Comply with all company and site procedures and regulations.
- Ensure an efficient and effective response to incidents/emergencies and maintain effective liaison with colleagues and external services.
- Ensure that you observe safety procedures and use safe working practices specifically regarding COSHH and Risk Assessments, reporting accidents and near misses to your line manager.
- To undertake any other duties that may be required within the area of your responsibility
What we're looking for:
- Experience in arboriculture
- Practical use of arboriculture machinery
- A demonstrable ability to establish and sustain good working relationship within a team environment as well as the ability and initiative to work alone.
- Aptitude to communicate effectively with colleagues and members of the public.
- Holds valid driving licence preferably with legal and practical ability to use a trailer (Preferred)
- Comfortable using Mobile Field Solution MFS – (Tablet)
- Brushwood Chipper operations (NPTC) or Lantra
- CS30 – Maintain The Chainsaw
- CS31 - Fell Small Trees
- CS38 – Climb Trees & perform Aerial rescue
- CS39 – Operate the chainsaw from a rope & harness
- Level 3 Forestry+ First Aid
- Chapter 8 Signing, Lighting and Guarding

Experience:
- Tree Surgeon: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Level 2, CS30 & CS31 Chainsaw and Felling (required)
- Spraying Certificates – NPTC PA1 & PA6 (preferred)
- CS32 Felling and process trees over 380mm (preferred)
- Brushwood Chipper Operations (NPTC) or Lantra (required)
- Safe use of Stump Grinders/ASG02 Cert of Stump Grinding (preferred)
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Level 3 CS47 Operate a chainsaw from a MEWP (preferred)
- Level 3 CS40 Aerial Tree Pruning (preferred)
- Level 3, CS41, CS38, & CS39 Aerial Tree Rigging, and Cutting (required)
