Harbour Childcare supports children and young people with complex needs who may at times display challenging behaviour.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:( not limited to)
Managing service delivery
- To ensure that good quality working relationships are built and maintained between the care team and children and young people in our care, their families and the professionals that work alongside us, in supporting them to stay safe and make progress.
- To evaluate the risk of and to protect our children and young people from threats to their health, welfare and normal development, both from inside and outside of the home. It will require you to act as Designated Safeguarding Lead and involve liaising with the Responsible Individual (RI) and strictly following Harbour Childcare Safeguarding Policy and Procedures for reporting suspected abuse, working in collaboration with LADO/LSCP/Police.
- To demonstrate the highest levels of care and behaviour management in your own direct work with children and young people, as role-model for other staff.
- To ensure that all meetings on behalf of children are organized in a timely manner and in accordance with the Local Authority’s statutory obligations, attend and participate in all including; Care Planning meetings, LAC reviews, PEPs and strategy meetings and compile written records of the meetings, ensure that information and outcomes are disseminated to the care team – as part of the handover process.
Experience and Qualifications required
- At least 2 years management experience in a Children’s Residential Home within the past 5 years, at a standard assessed as "Good" in all aspects of the role.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (RQF) or
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (RQF)
