About the role
Want a role where you support foster carers, strengthen family relationships and help children and young people thrive? Join our small team as a Fostering Support Worker and get involved across fostering recruitment and support, from running coffee mornings and support groups to providing practical and emotional support to approved foster carers and friends and family carers. You will deliver training, support Supervising Social Workers with assessments and reviews, and at times work directly with children and young people by facilitating activities and fun days that promote placement stability.
As part of the Family Placement Service, you will help provide good quality foster carers and adopters so children and young people have the best opportunities in life, guided by respect, caring, listening, professionalism, fairness and curiosity. You will attend community events and road shows to help increase the number of foster carers on the Island, work flexibly when families need time limited, focused support, and receive regular supervision and training. An enhanced with barring police check is required for this post, the cost of which will be covered by the Isle of Man Government.
