Night Registered Veterinary Nurse - Bridgwater

Candor Vets is delighted to present an outstanding opportunity for a dedicated and dynamic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the out-of-hours team at a busy veterinary hospital in Somerset. This role offers the chance to work within a highly supportive environment, contributing to exceptional patient care during critical hours.
The Role
This position involves working at a main hospital in Bridgwater, collaborating closely with the night vet to provide comprehensive care for inpatients. Key responsibilities include preparing for out-of-hours surgeries and administering anaesthesia. You will also be supported by a twilight team member who assists with appointment arrangements, patient triage upon arrival, and infection control. The hospital handles a diverse caseload, ranging from traumas and toxin ingestions to blocked bladders, GDVs, and C-sections.
Rota: The rota is a rolling pattern of 4 nights on, 7 nights off, followed by 3 nights on, 7 nights off. Shifts are from 19:00 to 08:30.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing care for inpatients alongside the night vet.
- Preparing for out-of-hours surgeries.
- Administering anaesthesia.
- Assisting with patient triage and infection control.
- Handling a varied caseload of emergency and critical care cases.

The practice is located in the heart of Bridgwater, Somerset, with a branch practice in the beautiful village of Nether Stowey. This area offers a blend of town amenities and picturesque countryside, providing a pleasant environment for both work and leisure.
