Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Traffic Management Operative to oversee and coordinate traffic flow in designated areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing traffic control measures, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring smooth vehicular and pedestrian movement. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate traffic management equipment such as signage, barriers, and cones to guide vehicles and pedestrians effectively.
- Monitor traffic conditions continuously, adjusting control measures as necessary to prevent congestion or hazards.
- Communicate clearly with colleagues, drivers, and pedestrians to relay instructions or updates regarding traffic arrangements.
- Conduct routine maintenance on traffic control devices to ensure they are in good working order.
- Assist with the organisation of temporary traffic diversions during roadworks or events.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times, reporting any unsafe conditions immediately.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and equipment checks.
Skills
- Strong management skills to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently.
- Experience or knowledge of maintenance procedures related to traffic control equipment.
- Valid driving licence with clean driving record; ability to operate company vehicles if required.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with team members, the public, and stakeholders.
