Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting pharmacy operations, ensuring accurate medication dispensing, and providing excellent patient care. Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Duties
- Dispense prescribed medications accurately following pharmacy protocols and legal requirements
- Assist with medication administration under supervision, ensuring correct dosages and patient instructions
- Support patient care activities by providing information on medication usage and potential side effects
- Prepare prescription labels and organise medication stock efficiently
- Maintain accurate records of dispensed medications and patient interactions
- Ensure the pharmacy environment complies with health and safety standards
- Support inventory management by checking stock levels and reordering supplies as needed
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient treatment plans
Qualifications
- Previous pharmacy technician experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare teams
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- A recognised qualification in pharmacy services or related field is advantageous but not essential
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional standards
