Interim Financial Controller - High-Impact Assignment

Why this interim matters
This is a critical interim appointment, not a holding role.
The business needs an experienced, qualified finance leader who can step in quickly, take ownership, and immediately add value. Finance needs strong leadership through multiple month ends, clear and confident insight for the MD and leadership team, and an individual who can bring grip, structure and momentum to both BAU and improvement activity.
You will be relied upon to stabilise, lead and improve - and to leave the function in a stronger place than you found it.

What you will be doing
- Taking full interim ownership of the finance function
- Leading and supporting the finance team through BAU delivery
- Producing timely, accurate monthly management accounts and forecasts
- Maintaining strong balance sheet, cashflow and control discipline
- Working closely with the MD and leadership team as a trusted adviser
- Providing insight, challenge and recommendations to improve performance
- Supporting ad-hoc projects, analysis and process improvements
- Acting as a safe pair of hands through a period of transition
This is a true mix of hands-on delivery, leadership and commercial judgement.
What we are looking for
- CIMA or ACCA qualified
- Proven experience being hands on at Financial Controller, Finance Manager and qualified accountant
- Able to start very quickly
- Comfortable taking on a broad range of responsibilities
- Confident working with minimal supervision
- Pragmatic, commercial and decisive
This role is not suited to someone who
- Requires a long handover or close direction
- Wants a narrow or purely technical remit
- Is uncomfortable being visible and accountable
Pay: £60,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
