Purpose of the Role
The Mobile Cleaner plays a vital role in ensuring Pegasus Supported Housing properties remain safe, clean, and welcoming for our residents.
Working closely with the Property Services Team, you will be responsible for carrying out routine cleaning across our supported housing portfolio, completing end-of-tenancy cleans, and supporting the efficient turnaround of void rooms. Your work will directly contribute to providing high-quality accommodation for vulnerable individuals when they need it most.
This role requires someone who can work independently, manage their time effectively, and maintain excellent standards while demonstrating professionalism, respect, and compassion towards residents and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities - Property Cleaning & Maintenance
- Carry out cleaning duties across communal areas, offices, shared facilities, and other designated spaces in line with cleaning schedules.
- Complete end-of-tenancy and deep cleans to support the efficient turnaround of void rooms and ensure properties are ready for new residents.
- Ensure all cleaning is undertaken to a standard that supports compliance with the Decent Homes Standard and organisational expectations.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation across all Pegasus properties.
- Report any maintenance concerns, property damage, or health and safety issues identified during cleaning activities.
Health & Safety
- Follow all health and safety procedures, safe working practices, and risk assessments when carrying out duties.
- Adhere to all H & S training training provided including C.O.S.H.H and Handling Sharps / Needlesticks.
- Ensure cleaning products and equipment are used, stored, and maintained safely.
- Report accidents, incidents, hazards, and emergency situations promptly to management and using the CRM systems provided for recording.
- Maintain awareness of health and safety requirements relating to shared accommodation and Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs).
Resident Wellbeing & Safeguarding
- Remain alert to any concerns regarding the wellbeing, safety, or welfare of residents and report these promptly through the appropriate reporting systems.
- Report any incidents of anti-social behaviour, abuse, neglect, safeguarding concerns, or tenancy-related issues to management immediately.
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times when interacting with residents and external stakeholders.
Record Keeping & Communication
- Accurately record completed work using company systems, including uploading photographs and providing updates on completed cleaning tasks.
- Assist with stock monitoring and request cleaning supplies in line with company purchasing procedures.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, managers, contractors, and residents to support service delivery.
Team Contribution
- Attend team meetings, training sessions, and development activities as required.
- Provide cover across different Pegasus Supported Housing properties and support colleagues during periods of absence.
- Contribute positively to a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.
What We're Looking ForEssential Criteria
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Valid business insurance for work-related travel.
- Experience in a commercial cleaning services role.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements within cleaning services.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Basic IT skills and confidence using mobile applications to record completed work and upload information.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and customer service.
Desirable Criteria
- Knowledge of HMO standards and housing compliance requirements.
- Access to own vehicle.
