Overview
We are seeking a skilled 360 excavator operator and groundworker to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience operating excavators on commercial sites. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, contributing to the efficient and safe completion of groundworks and excavation tasks. Applicants must be organised, safety-conscious, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Duties
- Operate 360 excavators to perform excavation, trenching, lifting, and site clearance activities with precision and safety.
- Carry out groundworks including levelling, digging foundations, and preparing sites for construction.
- Assist with site set-up, including the positioning of machinery and materials.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal functioning.
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times to minimise risks on site.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and site personnel to ensure smooth workflow.
- Assist with general labouring tasks as required, including material movement and site tidying.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating 360 excavators in a commercial environment.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to excavator maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Valid certification for operating heavy plant machinery (e.g., CPCS or NPORS).
- Experience in groundworks or civil engineering is desirable.
- A clean driving licence with experience in commercial driving is advantageous.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and adhere to health & safety standards.
- Organised, reliable, with good communication skills and a proactive attitude towards safety and teamwork.
Pay: £20.00-£25.00 per hour
