Couture Seamtress/Seamster Job Description
Duties would include but not limited to:
- Sewing / creating dresses to the highest standard using the finest techniques
- Handling the finest materials like silk chiffon, lace, tulle, and beading
- Sewing with industrial machines and sewing with hand
- Take part in fittings and make alterations
- Work closely with the pattern cutters
Requirements:
- Able to drape fabric into shape
- Ability to creatively problem-solve pattern and/or construction constraints to achieve design intention
- Have a keen eye for cut and silhouette and the ability to interpret the designer’s intentions
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- High knowledge of high-end garment finishes.
