Requirements
- Previous experience working with vulnerable children or young people is essential
- Experience dealing with challenging behaviours, trauma, neglect, or abuse backgrounds
- Full UK driving licence is essential (Manual)
- Must be fully flexible to work long shifts and sleep-ins
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and work professionally within challenging situations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A caring, resilient, and proactive attitude
About the Role
My client is looking for committed and resilient Children’s Residential Support Workers to join their EBD children’s home in Newcastle upon Tyne.
The home supports children and young people who have experienced trauma, neglect, abuse, and adverse childhood experiences. Many of the children display emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and can present challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people
- Build positive and trusting relationships with residents
- Support children with daily routines, education, appointments, and activities
- Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Work as part of a supportive team to create a safe and nurturing environment
- Promote safeguarding, welfare, and emotional wellbeing at all times
