Baltic Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Press Brake General Operator, for a client located in Ferryhill. This is a Temp to Perm role. Our client is looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join their team as a General Operator within their Metal Forming (Folding) Team.
This hands-on role is ideal for someone with experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment who takes pride in producing high-quality work. You will be responsible for operating CNC press brake machinery and other metal forming equipment to produce sheet metal components for a wide range of customers, including many world-class blue-chip companies.
Starting on dayshift for day 1 induction, before moving onto a 2-shift rotation.
Press Brake General Operator Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Safely operate press brake and associated metal forming machinery
- Configure bend allowances for a variety of materials (stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel)
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
- Load and unload components to and from machinery efficiently and safely
- Create and modify multi-fold programs to ensure parts meet drawing requirements
- Select appropriate punches, dies, and tooling based on material specifications and design radii
- Use dimensional and precision measurement tools to verify product accuracy
- Maintain high standards of quality, productivity, and safety at all times
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the production process
Press Setter Operator Applicants:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Takes responsibility for the quality, quantity, and inspection of work performed
- Previous experience in engineering, manufacturing, or metal fabrication
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures in a manufacturing environment
- Reliable, punctual, and proactive approach to work
- Basic understanding of CNC machine operations (preferred but not essential)
- Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment
- Engineering or manufacturing-related qualification desirable but not essential
- Demonstrated competency in operating machinery or equipment safely and effectively

Days: £13.37
2-shift: £16.04
Day Shift:
Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm and Friday 8am – 12.30pm.
2-Shifts:
Monday to Thursday 2.30pm – 11pm and Friday 12.30pm – 7pm & Monday to Thursday 6am – 2.30pm and Friday 6am – 12.30pm.
