The Governing Body at Simonstone St Peters CE Primary School is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant. Our new TA will be fully involved in all teaching and learning activities in the Year 3/4 classroom, with specific involvement in teaching and supporting mathematics.
The school will provide an effective team of colleagues to support and further develop the successful candidate both personally and professionally. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about early childhood education and helping young children achieve their full potential. There may be opportunities to incorporate HLTA responsibilities depending on candidate qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher to deliver Maths through mixed age teaching and learning
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative lessons in KS2 in line with the national curriculum
- Assist in planning and preparing learning activities and resources
- Provide individual and small-group support to children
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
- Support childrens social, emotional, and physical development
- Observe and record childrens progress, contributing to assessments where required
- Promote positive behaviour in line with school policies
- Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and carers
- Be willing to support and embrace the Christian ethos of the school The School offers -

This position is part time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro rata basis.

Essential Qualifications
- NVQ level 2 or equivalent in a relevant subject
Desirable Qualifications
Essential Experience
- Previous experience working with children in an educational, childcare or youth setting
- Experience supporting teaching and learning, ideally within a primary or secondary school
Desirable Experience
- Experience of managing and teaching a whole class, when required.
