We’re looking for a reliable and proactive Yard Operative / Delivery Assistant to join our busy branch team. If you take pride in maintaining a safe, efficient yard and enjoy delivering excellent service to customers, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Carrying out basic vehicle and forklift maintenance (e.g. bulb and wiper changes)
- Supporting the loading and unloading of goods – safely, securely, and within weight limits
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, and hazard-free yard
- Assisting customers in selecting and locating materials, offering a positive and helpful experience
- Engaging with customers professionally, promoting our products and services
- Assisting in stock management
- Validating sales leads and supporting local sales initiatives
- Helping open new customer accounts and grow existing ones
What We’re Looking For:
- A strong positive work ethic with a commitment to teamwork
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Basic vehicle knowledge for light maintenance tasks
- Forklift experience (preferred, but training may be provided)
- A proactive approach to supporting sales and improving efficiency
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties
- Flexible, reliable, and eager to learn
- Building material knowledge preferable
