Job Overview
We are seeking a technically skilled Service & Support Coordinator to join a UK Service Department, supporting the commissioning, installation, and after-sales service of industrial packaging machinery and production lines.
This role acts as a key link between engineering, service, and customers, ensuring smooth installation, efficient post-sales support, and reliable machine performance across UK and Ireland sites.
You will work closely with the UK Service Manager and field engineers, coordinating technical activities and providing hands-on support during machine start-ups and troubleshooting phases.
This is a technical engineering role within industrial automation and packaging systems, requiring occasional travel to customer sites in the UK, Ireland, and occasionally overseas.
Responsibilities
- Support the installation, commissioning, and start-up of packaging machines and production lines at customer sites
- Coordinate after-sales service activities between internal engineering teams and field service technicians
- Review technical documentation and ensure accurate communication of installation and service requirements
- Act as a technical point of contact for engineers during troubleshooting and fault resolution
- Participate in customer technical meetings to support problem solving and define corrective actions
- Assist the Service Manager in improving service processes, efficiency, and machine uptime
- Monitor post-commissioning performance to ensure systems are operating to specification and customer expectations are met
- Ensure all service activities are planned, documented, and executed effectively
Skills
- Background in mechanical, electrical, mechatronic, or industrial engineering (or similar technical discipline)
- Experience in or understanding of industrial machinery, automation systems, or packaging equipment
- Familiarity with installation, commissioning, testing, or field service environments
- Strong problem-solving ability with a practical, hands-on engineering mindset
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across technical teams and customers
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering service environment
- Willingness to travel within the UK and Ireland, with occasional international travel
- Fluent in English and Basic to Fluent in Italian (essential for technical communication with European teams/customers)
Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
