Packing Operative – Oswestry Mill
Salary: From £30,000 per annum
Working Hours:
Rotating shifts: 6:00am–2:00pm and 2:00pm–10:00pm, Monday to Friday, with every other Saturday required, plus holiday cover as needed.

The Opportunity
Due to continued growth and to support our production operations, we are looking for a Packing Operative to join our team at Oswestry Mill on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for operating packing machinery, handling and lifting 25kg feed bags, and stacking finished products onto pallets. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous; however, full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate packing machinery safely and efficiently
- Pack and handle animal feed products
- Lift and stack 25kg feed bags onto pallets
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet production targets
- Assist with general mill operations as required
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Have excellent communication skills
- Be organised, accurate, and reliable
- Demonstrate good decision-making skills
- Work to high standards of quality and hygiene
- Be able to meet deadlines and production targets
- Work well within a team and use their own initiative
- Be able to commute reliably, as the site is in a rural location
A Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence would be desirable but is not essential, as full training can be provided.
