Shared Food & Beverage Assistant Manager (Hospitality & Events) – Fixed-Term Maternity Cover
Highwoods Golf Club, Bexhill-on-Sea
40 Hours Per Week | Fixed-Term Contract | Competitive Salary
Love Hospitality but Want Your Evenings Back?
Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences but looking to escape the long hours, late nights and high-pressure bar environment often associated with hospitality?
Highwoods Golf Club is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Shared Food & Beverage Assistant Manager to join our management team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract.
Set within beautiful Sussex countryside, Highwoods Golf Club is a thriving private members' club with over 700 members, a busy clubhouse, regular competitions, social events and private functions. We pride ourselves on offering a welcoming, friendly environment where members and guests enjoy excellent service and hospitality.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional who enjoys leading teams, organising events and delivering outstanding customer experiences whilst maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Why Join Highwoods Golf Club?
- Beautiful countryside working environment
- Over 700 active members and a vibrant club atmosphere
- 40-hour working week on a rota basis
- Shared weekend working arrangements
- No regular late-night bar culture
- Opportunity to take ownership of events and clubhouse operations
- Supportive management team
- Employer pension contribution

The Role
Working alongside your joint Assistant Manager and the wider management team, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the clubhouse, ensuring consistently high standards of service, hospitality and member satisfaction. You will have particular responsibility for functions and events, whilst also supporting operational management, stock control, compliance and the ongoing development of our hospitality team.
A Hands-On Hospitality Role
This is a hands-on management position. Whilst you will have responsibility for events, team leadership and operational standards, you will also be actively involved in delivering excellent service on a daily basis.
You should be comfortable working alongside the team, serving food and beverages, supporting events, interacting with members and guests, and helping wherever required to ensure the smooth running of the clubhouse.
We're looking for someone who leads by example and enjoys being part of the operation, not simply managing from behind the scenes.
